Last Christmas Break of College

Once again, I am late on these blog posts, but better late than never right? I enjoy doing these for one fact.... And thats not because I think anyone reads this, but because I want to be able to look back on all my posts and remember what fun times Landon and I have in our lives....

Anyway...

Our Christmas break this year was fabulous! We seriously had like 7 weeks off and we could not have needed it more!

Our break didn't officially start until we got done with our exams (which by the way, Landon and I both got 3.6 GPAs!!) but we did have a slight hint of its greatest the weekend before.

Behold, our annual "8 Pack" Christmas party....

We started this tradition this a couple of years ago and was so thankful we got to do it this year. The night included a delicious meal of Deer steaks, sides, and desserts. Then we played dirty Santa. Some of the best gifts were the Office Clue game and Haley's Beta fish she got :) We all took a trip over to our house so they could see it all lite up then we watch Chevy Chase Christmas Vaca!
The Couples.... Seriously the best friends we could ask for!

The friday after exams, I did some last minute Christmas shopping with my sister in law, Megan, and had such a wonderful time just the two of us. It should really happen more often (maybe next time I will get some pics).

On Dec. 11, we had our family Christmas with my dad's extended family. It was so much fun and a special time because it was around the time my grandmother passed away and it was our way of remembering her! She was dearly missed.

Our first official week on break we took a trip to Midland, TX to visit some dear friends of ours- Craig and Addy King and their sweet 4 kiddos. They hold SUCH a precious place in our heart- they both mentored Landon and I, did our pre-martial counseling and sang BEAUTIFULLY in our wedding!!

We left on a Sunday to drive to Little Rock for a date night and then flew out of there EARLY Monday morning!

Seriously, their kids are the cutest. I would put all the pics on here, but its too many. Check them out on my facebook!
Anyway, while we were there, we really just hung out and saw their world- met some of their friends, had lunch with the girls, saw their church. Landon spent a day or two being Craig's tag along at work. Addy and I did some Christmas shopping. Some of my favorite times on the trip happened after 9pm. I LOVE their children, seriously, like my own, but it was fun to get to have adult conversations and laugh with friends. We had such a great trip!!

After we got back from Texas, we had Landon's dads extended family Christmas that saturday. On Dec. 18, we took a little road/day trip with our friends Landon and Christina to go see our high school friend Malindi get married. I am mad at myself that I did not get any pics with her in her wedding dress, but here are some of us...

The next week I worked and we got ready for our Christmas weekend!

On the 23rd, we had our annual Seafood feast at my dads house for Christmas!
On the 24th, we had Christmas with Landon's parents and brothers and their families.
On the 25th, we did our own thing sunday morning for Christmas, had church, then went to my moms for Christmas!

It was so fun to have our first Christmas as a married couple! We started a tradition this year of getting 3 presents and a stocking for Christmas. I'm not sure if we will do it for each other when we have kids, but it was fun to spoil him this year!! He got me a digital camera, candles, and a robe. I got him a fossil watch, Zelda Wii game, and a STL World Series Champ ornament to put on our tree. Fun and sweet time Christmas morning!

I have to brag on my nephew and niece for a minute.
First of all, Matt and Megan annouced they are having a GIRL in May! We are so excited!
Then I have to put the cutest pic of my little nephew, Gideon, on here. Seriously, he has some cute pics, but what is it about a sleeping baby that tugs at my heart?

The week after Christmas was full of work but on New Years we went with Matt and Haley to Glen Allan, MS to help our friend JDub and his girl Amber Grace get engaged! It was the sweetest story... Read it here

I am sad we didn't get any pics but on New Years Day we went with some friends from Senatobia to visit the Edges in Hickory Flat. It was us, the Adkins, the Edges, Steph, Megan Hill, MC and Lee. We had so much fun playing games, eating, and hanging out with each other!

The week after that was full of Landon and Christina's wedding festivites! (Separate Blog)!

By now we are at the second week in January. I worked alot that week at CFA and my last day was on January 12. I took my big teacher test, the Praxis II, on Jan. 14. I'm still waiting for the scores! After the test we headed to my moms for family/game night. Once again, no pics!

The last week before school started was seriously the most relaxing week I had all Christmas break. All week I read books, cleaned the house, and hung out with my adorable husband!

One night we went on a date night in Oxford. Soulshine pizza and a FREE movie!

Other nights were filled with movies, palates, and fun times together!!

One day, one of Landon and I's best friends (who are brother and sister) mom came down to see our neck of the woods and have coffee! She is such a sweet encouragement!

ALLL THIS TO SAY.... We had a great Christmas break!!!
I started my student teaching Monday and so far so good!!
