On our one year anniversary, I bought Landon a night at a bed and breakfast outside of Nashville. Because I work until Friday at 3 and he has to be at church on Sunday mornings, we did not have an opportunity to use it until this past week. On Monday and Tuesday, I had a much needed break from school, so Sunday after church we headed up to Nashville to get away.
Landon's cousin, Ryan, and his wife, Brandyn and 2 boys live in Nashville. So we went to their house Sunday night for dinner and they graciously let us stay the night. When we went to put our stuff upstairs this is what I found.... so sweet.
Please notice the "Cross Garden" on the left side drawn by Austin! :)
Brandyn cooked some amazing spaghetti and then we had some great conversation! I am hoping we get to do it again sometime soon!
Monday morning they took us to their studio where they have started thier own business Ausden, Inc. (check out their website here: http://www.ausdeninc.com) They take old wood and make them into wood walls, furniture, or whatever else they can think of!
Thank you guys! We had a BLAST with y'all!
After we saw their place, Landon and I headed out to do some shopping, eating, and resting!
We went to the Discover Mills mall and I got some new black pants and Landon got some stuff for his Thesis!
We had Five Guys for lunch. I am still thrown off that they serve peanuts with hamburgers.
We checked into our B&B in Brentwood. So cute!
After we rested some, we headed out to Franklin. I am so mad I did not get any pictures of their downtown area because it was so cute!! We went back the next morning because we got their right as all the stores were closing.
We had dinner on the square in Franklin. We ate a restaurant called 55 south. It was so good! I had seafood gumbo and smoked wings and Landon had a BBQ chicken sandwich with a fried egg on it. Weird, I know, but so good.
Tuesday, we had a 3 course breakfast at the B&B. It was so good! We got to sit at the table with a couple who was celebrating their 30th anniversary on that day. So cool! We headed out to Franklin again.
We went to downtown Nashville after we saw all we wanted to in Franklin. We walked down broadway street and ran into this little gem. Its a letterpress shop that has been open since the late 1800's. This might not be cool to most people, but it was cool for Landon because he knew how to do it. It was cool to me because it allowed me to see his world.
This was my souvenir! We got a frame for it, now we just have to hang it up in the kitchen.
We ate lunch at the Pita pit then headed home!
We had so much fun, but it went by way to fast!
